tonight i took hudson to bed and i got in bed with him to snuggle for a minute like i usually do. i got home around 8 tonight so he hadn't seen me much today. he scooted right next to me and put his hand on my face and said "isn't this fun, mama?"
in a word...yes.

i feel like i've fallen off the face of the earth or akin elementary has swallowed me alive. and it will probably be that way for a while. but we have had a few events that are definitely blog-worthy...
happy birthday to my mom :)
we went to babe's tonight and had a great dinner. she was also a good sport with the chicken hat they made her wear. we love you!
last night was meet the teacher and thankfully i was so preoccupied with the stress of meeting my own parents that i wasn't able to dwell on the fact that i now have 2 school age kids. abby will be right across the hall from me with mrs. paredes.
she is sooooo excited! and i am too. i'm so lucky to be with them all day. jake gets to go up the ramp this year which is a pretty big deal. he will be with mrs. herzog and with his best buddy jack. he's a little nervous, but then again that's jake.
on a side note, izzy is growing and getting brave now. at first she wouldn't even try to go up the stairs. then it was up one and she needed help to get down. the other day she was trying to chase bob and made it halfway up and then froze.
still working on the house training but she's a really good dog.
well, who knows when i'll make it on here again. until then...

so we are 2 weeks away from my girl starting kindergarten. i can't take that...and i'll deal with that more as it gets closer.
hudson, my baby, turns 3 tomorrow...actually today (it's late!)...and i really, REALLY can't take that. how did that happen?
jake pulled his front tooth out just in time for a visit from the tooth fairy tonight. and he almost required one of those wild and wacky fun trips to the er. he fell playing football and cut his head pretty good. dr daddy fixed it up with a couple of butterflies and he's good to go. THERE CAN BE NO MORE INJURIES IN THE MALHIOT HOUSE FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS. will that work...typing it in all caps on my blog like that? hmmm.

day trip
andy had the idea to take the kids to tyler state park so monday we hopped in the car and headed east (like it's that easy...just "hop" in the car and go). we had a great day together, fishing and swimming, picnic-ing and boating. i'll let the pictures tell the story...it's a pain to type with one hand :)

Introducing...
Izzy
The new addition to Team Malhiot is the sweetest, cutest dog ever! Of course the kids are crazy about her and Andy even secretly adores her. Hudson calls her "Izzy Bizzy" and tells her in the sweetest voice "You're so beautiful." while he pets her. I don't think she will lack for much :)
