There are no words

I'll get to that part in a minute. First, Friday was Field Day for me and Jake. Dad, Mum, and Grandaddy all came out to enjoy the "noncompetitive" competitions. Don't get me started. Anyway, Jake had a great time and even raced Mr. Cearley, our principal, on the inflatable obstacle course. That night, against any better judgement, we took the kids with a group of friends to see Le Freak, Kool and the Gang, Spazmatics and Rick Springfield at the Wildflower Festival. It was a great idea in theory. In reality, a Friday night after Field Day is best spent in bed by 7 pm.

Saturday it rained and rained which I loved because it meant we had absolutely no plans anymore. I got my mother's day pedicure and actually dozed off in the chair. Did some much needed major grocery shopping, and watched a hilarious movie with Andy that night.

Sunday was THE day. Kenny came back to finish what he started. He was the only one performing and it was THE best concert I have ever been to. The absolute only thing that could top it would be standing in the sandbar during this go around. He sang for over 3 hours. It was amazing. Thank you again, Jen, for the tickets. Love you so much!

Chillin' at the car waiting for Jen

Even Mitch (I Hate Kenny Chesney) Nalley had a great time.

By the way...10 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!

analogy

so my kenny groupie gang (plus mitch) and i have been totally excited about the concert. plans were made, excitement was building, we just sooo looked forward to the good time we were going to have together. mother nature had other plans. a horrible storm blew through right about the time we were to leave wylie and park ourselves on a patio across the street from the stadium. so we waited it out and then left with almost clear skies above us. well, the storms just kept coming. wave after wave. we got to the stadium. watched miranda lambert in the rain. kenny came on and got through about 3 songs before it started raining again. and i mean RAIN. lightening all around us. we were in an open stadium. very safe. but our love for kenny overshadowed common sense and we hung in there with the hopes that everyone else would leave and we could make our way much much closer. but after about 6 songs he stopped and told everyone to get the hell outta there and be safe. so there we were...soaked to the bone and freezing with no hope of going anywhere anytime soon, out $250 and not much in the fun-loving mood we came in. oh well. the good news is that he has already rescheduled for may 17. so we'll try again then. :)
before the hurricane

that experience pretty much sums up how i feel right now about our lives here at 522 fairland. we are in the middle of the storm, the good stuff has been cancelled, and we have no idea when it will be rescheduled. i try with all i have to stay positive and hopeful and i try with all i have to believe that my god will take care of us, but it gets hard some days. and this is one of those days. please pray (or continue praying) for andy and his job search. he is so discouraged today and i feel so helpless.
