rainman

Jake was Rainman when he was little. He would say the same thing over and over and over and over....you get the picture. Well, now Hudson has stepped up to the plate and he is giving Jake a run for his money in the Rainman department. One of his favorite routines that he performs more times a day than I can count is the "Nak. Two nak. Mama, two nak. two nak. MAMA!!" And this is the look I get:

That's "two" if you are wondering.

Also, lately Hudson has taken a liking to Abby's purple crocs. He wants to wear them everywhere...and usually on the wrong feet.

I couldn't take it anymore so I broke down and got him his own, very boyish, Batman crocs. I'm sorry, but the purple just didn't match anything in his closet. :)

J-man

I've heard people say that you get progressively less diligent with each child when it comes to baby books and scrapbooking and stuff like that. But I've noticed that the opposite is true on my blog. I did a wordle today and the biggest word on my cloud was Hudson, followed closely by Abby and Jake's name was much, much smaller. This is in direct relation to how many times their names are mentioned on here. I guess it's because Hudson is in that stage where he's funny/cute so much of the time (and doing something new daily it seems). But I want to make an effort to write about my J-man more. Look for that in the coming days...for now I'm off to finally watch The Office.

thanks...i'll be here all week

Abby and I were driving home from an errand today and had the following conversation:
me: what do you want to be for halloween?
a: a chee-leader
me: you do?!
a: i want to be a chee-leader for halloween AND when i grow up!
me: mama was a cheerleader...did you know that?
a: for the football team?
me: yes. mum and grandaddy have movies you can watch where you can see mama as a cheerleader.
a: (starts laughing/giggling so hard - which is one of my absolute favorite sounds - that she almost cries) mama, those are funny words you said.
she had to repeat it FIVE times until i could understand her because she was laughing so hard. i still have no idea why that's funny.

i was a GREAT cheerleader. :)

nothing like a shot in the butt

So after 2 days of running 103 fever, aching all over - and I mean even my toenails ached - and not being able to even swallow saliva (and all this is while on antibiotics), I went to a clinic in town that was open on Saturday evening and got a shot in my rear. Best decision I've made in a while. I feel so much better today!
******************************************
One habit of mine (and Andy's) from the time Jake was in diapers is to ask the kids if they are "poopy" whenever we catch a whiff of something foul. Lately, when I say this to Hudson he says "It's not in there." Today we were having lunch and he had a messy nose. I said "Eewww, gross!" as I left the table to refill my drink and Hudson looked at Andy and said "It's not in there, Daddy!".

Rock Star

I love how he has to close his eyes to rock out.
Hudson has started making this face because we all crack up when he does it. It's not the best example...he usually does this funny thing with his mouth but it was the best I could get on command.

Abby and Kinley on the first day of dance class

Abby scoring one of her TWO soccer goals in her very first game

J-man doing his thing

Abby did great the first half of her game. The second half we could hardly get her to go back on the field. 4-year-old life is hard.

Hudson was ready to go in anytime Jake's team needed him. I don't think the pink shin guards and pink cleats would go over well with daddy though.

*******

One last Hudson funny...
He is really big into asking what everything, and I mean everything, is right now. And when you answer him he always says "I wike _____".

S'at?

peanut butter.

I wike peanut butter.

S'at?

Mama's camera.

I wike c'ma.

S'at?

Barak Obama.

I wike bak ma.

(He still has a lot to learn.)

slacker

hello, my name is lisa and i am a blog-slacker.

while admitting the problem is the first step toward change, don't expect much changing anytime soon. now that school is back in the mix...i'm too busy to sit and too tired to think.

one funny hudson quote:
h: 'mama, kee' (candy)
me: 'no, no more candy tonight'
h: 'mama, KEEEEE!!!!
me: 'no, you've already had a candy. no more.'
h: 'bout nak' (how about a snack - negotiating at 2!)

we go through this routine now every day at least 3 times.

i'll post pictures of the first soccer games asap. promise.

FRIO BABY!!!

Even though the water was just low enough to make you walk most of the float, we had another fantastic weekend at the Frio. We just tied up in the water behind the house and chilled all day. I'm missing it already.

That's the house in the background.

the view

I know I look tired...but I'm really not. :) Just totally relaxed.

Counting the days until next year...
