say it isn't so

My babies are growing up. I don't think I can take it.

Jake lost his first tooth yesterday. He was determined to lose it at school so he could get the supercool tooth necklace from Nurse Karen to put it in. And he pulled it off (literally) just in time.

Abby had her first dance recital last night. She did such a good job! My mom commented that Abby finally had her time in the spotlight after so many baseball and soccer seasons watching Jake. And she enjoyed every minute of it!

Top 10...

Top 10 ways to know you are ready for school to end:
10. You are so tired, you now want to answer students' questions with "shutup"
9. Your friends call to ask how you've been and you immediately scream "Stop asking me all these questions."
8. Your garbage can is now your "INBOX"
7. You wake up to discover your classroom is on fire, but go back to sleep because you just don't care.
6. You consider a 40 hour work week a vacation.........
5. Visions of the upcoming summer and sleeping in help you make it through Monday.
4. You don't set your alarm anymore because you just don't care if you are late or not...
3. The next kid who asks you for a pencil is going to hear "Don't you ever have anything? Do you see WalMart tattooed on my forehead?"
2. Your day timer/work planner exploded a week ago...
1. You fantasize about how relaxing it would be if you were in jail right now!

It's not original, but it couldn't be more true. :)

good weekend

If I weren't already 110% ready for the summer, I am now. We had such a fun weekend doing all sorts of things...

Friday night I went out with my team and a few other friends to do one of my favorite things - see the spazmatics! We had such a good time, as usual. Andy and the kids went next door for the evening and Jake tried his first mudbug. We are so proud. They finally crashed around 10 that night.
On Saturday we celebrated the upcoming arrival of baby Trinidad, and I got my baby fix for a while thanks to the Nacar babies. I was too busy holding AJ and Alivia to take pictures, but they are CUTE!

Sunday we went to a cookout at the Nalleys with the Wylie crew and had an awesome time, as usual. Swimming, eating, playing baseball and redneck golf, singing, rolling down the hill...good times. :)

Today we went to place a flag on Andy's grandfather's grave and then we had lunch with Nana and Poppy. The kids went swimming and I took a nap with Hud.

Seven more school days...I can do it.

Look out A-Rod

When he's on, the boy can PLAY! Jake had his second game of the tournament tonight and he was on fire! He had a three run homer off his first pitch, another home run, a single and five outs as first base and pitcher. Awesome!!!

PS- We may need to renegotiate our contract.

By the way...I have the best husband ever! For mother's day Andy handed me a box to open. It was filled with sand. As I opened it I heard music start from our ipod - live music, with the cheering and everything. I was very confused, thinking he was telling me my gift was some landscaping or something, but he told me to dig to the bottom. There was a close-up picture of Kenny Chesney singing and he labeled it "Our View". My Andy gave me sand bar tickets to the Houston concert in August!!! I am so excited!!!

One last thing: keep our dog Tucker in your thoughts. He was recently diagnosed with heartworm and started treatment today. It's pretty intense and when he comes home on Wednesday we have to keep him calm and quiet for the next two weeks at least. Poor Tanner is going crazy without him already. :(

Field Day

Jake's first field day was Friday. He had a great time, and Daddy was able to be there with him too.

I meant to post this last week:
Jake made this at school about me.

Hopefully you can read it...it's hilarious. Can you tell my toes are painted? :)

I LOVE that...

21 months

Hudson is 21 months old today. He will be 2 years old before we know it! Our little monkey is hilarious and so much fun. He's really big into telling you "Mo!!!" (no) accompanied with a raised hand, a finger point, or (for greater emphasis) a double-handed finger point. And he will tell you "Mo" for no reason at all. Just out of the blue..."Mo, Mama!!!" It is very hard not to laugh and encourage it. He is going potty at school a couple of times a day and has even gone at home once. All pure luck based on good timing, but still. Hudson has gotten really shy when he know non-family members are looking at him or talking to him. He LOVES to play in the dirt and smear food all over his face. He loves to brush his teeth standing next to Jake on the stool. He cannot go to bed until he has a snack and a cup of milk while sitting with Mama on the couch. I love the way he sleeps curled up on his stomach with his knees tucked in and ankles crossed. I love how much he adores Abby and Jake and how they adore him in return. I love that he holds hands with us now and bows his head and mumbles when we pray at dinner. I just want him to stay this age forever!

If there is mud to be found...Mo!

top 10 reasons i love my mom

In honor of the upcoming special day I thought I'd share a few of the million reasons why I love my mom (in no particular order).
1. She has to have a diet caffeine-free Dr. Pepper every morning. Tell me what good that does?
2. Her organization and attention to detail. I consider myself pretty organized, but details beat me down so I'm glad someone in my life pays attention.
3. My mom is the most generous person I know when it comes to giving her time. This goes along with #4...
4. The way she puts everyone else first. I know that this can be dangerous sometimes, but I am so thankful to have her example because I definitely try to follow in her footsteps in this area.
5. She is the best cook!
6. She can't say 'tortilla' , 'quesadilla', or 'cabana'. And she gets so mad when you correct her.
7. Her overlapping toe that Jake inherited.
8. Her faith.
9. She loves Andy like a son...truly.
10. She is committed to her marriage.
Happy Mother's Day Mom! I love you!
